Google Earth with the 2nd Graders :)
Last class, Mr Barnes and the class went to help the 2nd graders use Google Earth. They were all so adorable!! They shared us a song about the Earth, and let me tell you this, they were better singers than me. I was assigned to help two kids named Mary and Brandon. Brandon was a shy kid and Mary was open and always asking for help when needed. Both of them had fun turning the globe. I showed them how to use Street View, Mary was amazed. I asked her "Does it feel like you're in the area?" and she gave me this happy reply and nods. Brandon thought of street view as a video game. He used the W,A,S, and D keys to see if he can move around like in an actual video game, he was a fun kid. Mary and Brandon looked around for their top 3 places to go, but before that, they both wanted to find their home and Brent. They were both surprised as they saw how much houses and buildings were surrounding the area. Mary was really surprised to have noticed that Tokyo, one of her main places go, was so crowded with buildings and roads. Brandon was looking around Egypt and Paris. He was on the Eiffel Tower too. Both kids had fun using Google Earth. During snack time i just found out those two were best friends. They were so cute to watch. I had fun teaching these kids :) Wish i can do it again one day.
